Collecting rainwater now illegal in many states as Big Government claims ownership over our water

Monday, July 26, 2010
by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger
Editor of NaturalNews.com
(NaturalNews) Many of the freedoms we enjoy here in the U.S. are quickly eroding as the nation transforms from the land of the free into the land of the enslaved, but what I'm about to share with you takes the assault on our freedoms to a whole new level. You may not be aware of this, but many Western states, including Utah, Washington and Colorado, have long outlawed individuals from collecting rainwater on their own properties because, according to officials, that rain belongs to someone else.

As bizarre as it sounds, laws restricting property owners from "diverting" water that falls on their own homes and land have been on the books for quite some time in many Western states. Only recently, as droughts and renewed interest in water conservation methods have become more common, have individuals and business owners started butting heads with law enforcement over the practice of collecting rainwater for personal use.

Check out this YouTube video of a news report out of Salt Lake City, Utah, about the issue. It's illegal in Utah to divert rainwater without a valid water right, and Mark Miller of Mark Miller Toyota, found this out the hard way.

After constructing a large rainwater collection system at his new dealership to use for washing new cars, Miller found out that the project was actually an "unlawful diversion of rainwater." Even though it makes logical conservation sense to collect rainwater for this type of use since rain is scarce in Utah, it's still considered a violation of water rights which apparently belong exclusively to Utah's various government bodies.

"Utah's the second driest state in the nation. Our laws probably ought to catch up with that," explained Miller in response to the state's ridiculous rainwater collection ban.

Salt Lake City officials worked out a compromise with Miller and are now permitting him to use "their" rainwater, but the fact that individuals like Miller don't actually own the rainwater that falls on their property is a true indicator of what little freedom we actually have here in the U.S. (Access to the rainwater that falls on your own property seems to be a basic right, wouldn't you agree?)

Outlawing rainwater collection in other states

Utah isn't the only state with rainwater collection bans, either. Colorado and Washington also have rainwater collection restrictions that limit the free use of rainwater, but these restrictions vary among different areas of the states and legislators have passed some laws to help ease the restrictions.

In Colorado, two new laws were recently passed that exempt certain small-scale rainwater collection systems, like the kind people might install on their homes, from collection restrictions.

Prior to the passage of these laws, Douglas County, Colorado, conducted a study on how rainwater collection affects aquifer and groundwater supplies. The study revealed that letting people collect rainwater on their properties actually reduces demand from water facilities and improves conservation.

Personally, I don't think a study was even necessary to come to this obvious conclusion. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that using rainwater instead of tap water is a smart and useful way to conserve this valuable resource, especially in areas like the West where drought is a major concern.

Additionally, the study revealed that only about three percent of Douglas County's precipitation ended up in the streams and rivers that are supposedly being robbed from by rainwater collectors. The other 97 percent either evaporated or seeped into the ground to be used by plants.

This hints at why bureaucrats can't really use the argument that collecting rainwater prevents that water from getting to where it was intended to go. So little of it actually makes it to the final destination that virtually every household could collect many rain barrels worth of rainwater and it would have practically no effect on the amount that ends up in streams and rivers.

It's all about control, really

As long as people remain unaware and uninformed about important issues, the government will continue to chip away at the freedoms we enjoy. The only reason these water restrictions are finally starting to change for the better is because people started to notice and they worked to do something to reverse the law.

Even though these laws restricting water collection have been on the books for more than 100 years in some cases, they're slowly being reversed thanks to efforts by citizens who have decided that enough is enough.

Because if we can't even freely collect the rain that falls all around us, then what, exactly, can we freely do? The rainwater issue highlights a serious overall problem in America today: diminishing freedom and increased government control.

Today, we've basically been reprogrammed to think that we need permission from the government to exercise our inalienable rights, when in fact the government is supposed to derive its power from us. The American Republic was designed so that government would serve the People to protect and uphold freedom and liberty. But increasingly, our own government is restricting people from their rights to engage in commonsense, fundamental actions such as collecting rainwater or buying raw milk from the farmer next door.

Today, we are living under a government that has slowly siphoned off our freedoms, only to occasionally grant us back a few limited ones under the pretense that they're doing us a benevolent favor.

Fight back against enslavement

As long as people believe their rights stem from the government (and not the other way around), they will always be enslaved. And whatever rights and freedoms we think we still have will be quickly eroded by a system of bureaucratic power that seeks only to expand its control.

Because the same argument that's now being used to restrict rainwater collection could, of course, be used to declare that you have no right to the air you breathe, either. After all, governments could declare that air to be somebody else's air, and then they could charge you an "air tax" or an "air royalty" and demand you pay money for every breath that keeps you alive.

Think it couldn't happen? Just give it time. The government already claims it owns your land and house, effectively. If you really think you own your home, just stop paying property taxes and see how long you still "own" it. Your county or city will seize it and then sell it to pay off your "tax debt." That proves who really owns it in the first place... and it's not you!

How about the question of who owns your body? According to the U.S. Patent & Trademark office, U.S. corporations and universities already own 20% of your genetic code. Your own body, they claim, is partially the property of someone else.

So if they own your land, your water and your body, how long before they claim to own your air, your mind and even your soul?

Unless we stand up against this tyranny, it will creep upon us, day after day, until we find ourselves totally enslaved by a world of corporate-government collusion where everything of value is owned by powerful corporations -- all enforced at gunpoint by local law enforcement.

14 United State Governors Prepare State Militia Defenses

14 United State Governors Prepare State Militia Defenses: To Counter Obama’s Rogue Federal Forces!

Obama fearing a revolution against him by the states, has moved swiftly by nationalizing nearly all National Guard Forces in multiple states; Georgia, Alabama, Kansas, Minnesota, Tennessee, Virginia, Louisiana, South Carolina – to name a few. The Governors of the Great States of Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia still have under their Command-and-Control the State Defense Forces to go against U.S. Federal forces should the need arise. Also important to note: There are NO U.S. laws prohibiting National Guard troops from also joining their State’s Defense Forces. This dilemma occurred during the Civil War with many “citizen soldiers” choosing to serve their states instead of the Federal Government.
Obama is angered by the several State Governors who have reestablished “State Defense Forces.” These forces are described as: “State Defense Forces (also known as State Guards, State Military Reserves, State Militias) in the United States are military units that operate under the sole authority of a state government; they are not regulated by the National Guard Bureau nor are they part of the Army National Guard of the United States. State Defense Forces are authorized by state and federal law and are under the command of the governor of each state. State Defense Forces are distinct from their state’s National Guard in that they cannot become federal entities.”

Mr. Obama is fearful of these State Defense Forces, in that he does not have control of said forces, and with the U.S. Military stretched to near breaking from multiple deployments and theatre actions in Iraq and Afghanistan, these State military forces would be under the direct command and authority of the Governors in which states have said forces. In essence, the Governors would have “de facto control” of the United States.

Notice All Of Ramadan Celebrating Islamic Terrorist Camps
The two Governors leading this move are: Tim Pawlenty, Governor of Minnesota; and Rick Perry, Governor of Texas. Both of these State Governors stated they have: “…deep fear the President is destroying their Nation.” Governor Pawlenty’s fear of Obama is that since Obama took office he has appeased America’s enemies and has shunned some of America’s strongest allies, especially Israel. Governor Perry has declared that Obama is punishing his State of Texas by dumping tens-of-thousands of illegal Mexican immigrants into the cities and small towns of Texas. Governor Perry further recently stated: “If Barack Obama’s Washington doesn’t stop being so oppressive, Texans might feel compelled to renounce their American citizenry and secede from the union.”

Map Your Local Fusion Center

Fusion centers -- places for state, local and federal officials to share and analyze information -- sprang up at the local level in the wake of the post-9/11 complaints about the failure to "connect the dots." In 2003, the federal government began contributing funding; to date, the Department of Homeland Security has provided more than $420 million in funding to 72 fusion centers across the country, but some localities have funded additional centers.

Fusion centers are built upon the idea of cops on a beat -- local authorities will recognize potential threats to their communities and feed the system with intelligence about possible terrorists. But critics charge that the imperative to gather as much information as possible can lead to abuses and misinformation that can get into national databases.

Here is a map of state-level fusion centers, click on a point to learn more.

D.C. rules for medical pot program

D.C. rules for medical pot program

District officials released regulations Friday that will govern the city's implementation of its medical marijuana program.

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty's (D) administration has been drafting regulations to license dispensaries, track doctors and users, and identify where to allow the wholesale production of marijuana. The rules would now undergo a public comment and review period, which could take months.

“All District residents deserve access to the full slate of medical treatments available,” Fenty said in a statement Friday. “My Administration will work to ensure that medical marijuana is dispensed safely and efficiently.”
According to the guidelines, qualifying patients must be city residents, must register with District government, and have a qualifying medical condition. The rules also impose fines and the prospect of criminal prosecution for patients who possess marijuana or paraphernalia not authorized by the program.
Caregivers should be at least 18 years of age, must register with the city and would face fines and prosecution if they operate outside the city's guidelines.
Physicians are required to be in good standing to practice in the city, must register with the District and have a legitimate doctor-patient relationship with program participants.
Those seeking permits to operate dispensaries must file a business proposal with the city that includes proposed location, staffing and security plans, and specify cultivation plans when applicable, among other rules.
The council approved the initiative in May, and under home rule, Congress had 30 legislative days to review it. The measure became law after Congress finished its business July 26 because the House and Senate declined to intervene. The law capped a years-long struggle to act on a 1998 referendum in which 69 percent of District residents voted in favor of medical marijuana. Until last year, Congress had blocked the city from enacting the referendum.
Read the rules here.

BitTorrent Admins Charged in $1.25bn Movie Piracy Case

BitTorrent Admins Charged in $1.25bn Movie Piracy Case

Written by enigmax on July 13, 2010
Following the country’s first ever raid on a BitTorrent site in 2009, Russian authorities have now begun a criminal investigation into the operators of Interfilm.ru. Run by a married couple, the site is now at the center of copyright infringement claim which runs to a staggering $1.25 billion. Reports suggest that the investigation has also traced some of the site’s top users.
mvdClaiming that the site was a major source of pre-release cammed movies with links to piracy groups outside the country, on May 26th 2009 the Russian Federation Ministry of Internal Affairs Investigation Committee under the Ministry of Internal Affairs carried out a raid on the the Russian BitTorrent tracker, Interfilm.ru.
The action followed complaints from anti-piracy group RAPO, a founding member of the MPA which represents the interests of Universal, Paramount, Sony, Warner Bros and 20th Century Fox in Russia.
At Interfilm’s Moscow base the police arrested several staff and also the main targets, husband and wife team Ivan and Irina Podorozhnikovymi.
Just over a year later the Interior Ministry Investigation Committee has now filed criminal charges against the pair, known online as ‘Ripper’ and ‘Nadezhda’. The scope of the accusations are quite incredible. Domestic and foreign film companies claim that the tracker caused 38.7 billion rubles in damages – a mind-blowing $1.253 billion.
interfilmAlthough it has not been revealed how this astronomical figure was reached, if convicted the founders – who the authorities say moved house and took technical measures to keep the site up during the investigation – could be facing up to six years in jail under Part 3 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code.
In addition to action against the site’s founders, there is an ongoing investigation into some of the top users of the site. However, in order to prove that regular users committed any crimes, under Russian law it would be necessary to prove they profited from their actions on a large scale.
There are claims that some individuals downloaded fresh movie releases from Interfilm and then uploaded them to their own sites. Police are considering whether to launch criminal investigations in these cases.
Although Interfilm went down after the initial raid, it reappeared at LeaseWeb in The Netherlands. The site remains operational today with a Malaysian host but is perhaps preparing for trouble. In addition to using the Interfilm.ru domain, the site is also in operation from BitHouse.org. Russia’s biggest torrent site, Torrents.ru, recently had to change its name to RUTracker.org after its domain was seized by Russian authorities.

Shoe Bomber Sentenced - Judge's Words

Remember the guy who got on a plane with a bomb built into his shoe and tried to light it?
Did you know his trial is over?
Did you know he was sentenced?
Did you see/hear any of the judge's comments on TV or Radio?
Didn't think so.!!!
Everyone should hear what the judge had to say.

Ruling by Judge William Young, US District Court.

Prior to sentencing, the Judge asked the defendant if he had anything to say
His response: After admitting his guilt to the court for the record, Reid
also admitted his 'allegiance to Osama bin Laden, to Islam, and to the
religion of Allah,' defiantly stating, 'I think I will not apologize for my
actions,' and told the court 'I am at war with your country.'

Judge Young then delivered the statement quoted below:

Judge Young: 'Mr. Richard C. Reid, hearken now to the sentence the Court
imposes upon you.

On counts 1, 5 and 6 the Court sentences you to life in prison in the
custody of the United States Attorney General. On counts 2, 3, 4and 7, the
Court sentences you to 20 years in prison on each count, the sentence on
each count to run consecutively. (That's 80 years.)

On count 8 the Court sentences you to the mandatory 30 years again, to be
served consecutively to the 80 years just imposed. The Court imposes upon
you for each of the eight counts a fine of $250,000 that's an aggregate fine
of $2 million. The Court accepts the government's recommendation with
respect to restitution and orders restitution in the amount of $298.17 to
Andre Bousquet and $5,784 to American Airlines.

The Court imposes upon you an $800 special assessment. The Court imposes
upon you five years supervised release simply because the law requires it.
But the life sentences are real life sentences so I need go no further.

This is the sentence that is provided for by our statutes. It is a fair and
just sentence. It is a righteous sentence.

Now, let me explain this to you. We are not afraid of you or any of your
terrorist co-conspirators, Mr. Reid. We are Americans. We have been
through the fire before. There is too much war talk here and I say that to
everyone with the utmost respect. Here in this court, we deal with
individuals as individuals and care for individuals as individuals. As
human beings, we reach out for justice.

You are not an enemy combatant. You are a terrorist. You are not a soldier
in any war. You are a terrorist. To give you that reference, to call you a
soldier, gives you far too much stature. Whether the officers of government
do it or your attorney does it, or if you think you are a soldier, you are
not----- you are a terrorist. And we do not negotiate with terrorists. We
do not meet with terrorists. We do not sign documents with terrorists. We
hunt them down one by one and bring them to justice.

So war talk is way out of line in this court You are a big fellow. But you
are not that big. You're no warrior. I've known warriors. You are a
terrorist. A species of criminal that is guilty of multiple attempted
murders. In a very real sense, State Trooper Santiago had it right when you
first were taken off that plane and into custody and you wondered where the
press and the TV crews were, and he said: 'You're no big deal.'

You are no big deal.

What your able counsel and what the equally able United States attorneys
have grappled with and what I have as honestly as I know how tried to
grapple with, is why you did something so horrific. What was it that led
you here to this courtroom today?

I have listened respectfully to what you have to say. And I ask you to
search your heart and ask yourself what sort of unfathomable hate led you to
do what you are guilty and admit you are guilty of doing? And, I have an
answer for you. It may not satisfy you, but as I search this entire record,
it comes as close to understanding as I know.

It seems to me you hate the one thing that to us is most precious. You hate
our freedom. Our individual freedom. Our individual freedom to live as we
choose, to come and go as we choose, to believe or not believe as we
individually choose. Here, in this society, the very wind carries freedom.
It carries it everywhere from sea to shining sea. It is because we prize
individual freedom so much that you are here in this beautiful courtroom, so
that everyone can see, truly see, that justice is administered fairly,
individually, and discretely. It is for freedom's sake that your lawyers
are striving so vigorously on your behalf, have filed appeals, will go on in
their representation of you before other judges.

We Americans are all about freedom. Because we all know that the way we
treat you, Mr. Reid, is the measure of our own liberties. Make no mistake
though. It is yet true that we will bear any burden; pay any price, to
preserve our freedoms. Look around this courtroom. Mark it well. The
world is not going to long remember what you or I say here. The day after
tomorrow, it will be forgotten, but this, however, will long endure.

Here in this courtroom and courtrooms all across America , the American
people will gather to see that justice, individual justice, justice, not
war, individual justice is in fact being done. The very President of the
United States through his officers will have to come into courtrooms and lay
out evidence on which specific matters can be judged and juries of citizens
will gather to sit and judge that evidence democratically, to mold and shape
and refine our sense of justice.

See that flag, Mr. Reid? That's the flag of the United States of America .
That flag will fly there long after this is all forgotten. That flag stands
for freedom. And it always will.

Mr. Custody Officer. Stand him down.
So, how much of this Judge's comments did we hear on our TV sets? We need
more judges like Judge Young. Pass this around. Everyone should and needs
to hear what this fine judge had to say. Powerful words that strike home.

I have been tortured by your corrupt system far to long

When will some one care about helping me and not taking my non existent money.

I have been tortured by your corrupt anti man system far to long. It has cost me my family, my children, their and my future, no one cares. It is cruel and inhuman to the point of sickness years of lies and theft goes unanswered, yet all stand by and watch me drown and relish the fact that if I could pay it would be different.

Will some one finally do something?
I doubt it.

Top Obama czar: Infiltrate all 'conspiracy theorists'
Presidential adviser wrote about crackdown on expressing opinions

Cass Sunstein, huge fuckin asshole and Nazi! lets all try to get his ass sent to Guantanamo !
In a lengthy academic paper, President Obama's regulatory czar, Cass Sunstein, argued the U.S. government should ban "conspiracy theorizing." Among the beliefs Sunstein would ban is advocating that the theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud. Sunstein also recommended the government send agents to infiltrate "extremists who supply conspiracy theories" to disrupt the efforts of the "extremists" to propagate their theories. In a 2008 Harvard law paper, "Conspiracy Theories," Sunstein and co-author Adrian Vermeule, a Harvard law professor, ask, "What can government do about conspiracy theories?" "We can readily imagine a series of possible responses. (1) Government might ban conspiracy theorizing. (2) Government might impose some kind of tax, financial or otherwise, on those who disseminate such theories." In the 30-page paper – obtained and reviewed by WND – Sunstein argues the best government response to "conspiracy theories" is "cognitive infiltration of extremist groups." (Story continues below)

Continued Sunstein: "We suggest a distinctive tactic for breaking up the hard core of extremists who supply conspiracy theories: cognitive infiltration of extremist groups, whereby government agents or their allies (acting either virtually or in real space, and either openly or anonymously) will undermine the crippled epistemology of believers by planting doubts about the theories and stylized facts that circulate within such groups, thereby introducing beneficial cognitive diversity."
Read more about Cass Sunstein's agenda in "Shut Up, America!: The End of Free Speech"
Sunstein said government agents "might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action."
Sunstein defined a conspiracy theory as "an effort to explain some event or practice by reference to the machinations of powerful people, who have also managed to conceal their role."
Some "conspiracy theories" recommended for ban by Sunstein include:
  • "The theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud."
  • "The view that the Central Intelligence Agency was responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy."
  • "The 1996 crash of TWA flight 800 was caused by a U.S. military missile."
  • "The Trilateral Commission is responsible for important movements of the international economy."
  • "That Martin Luther King Jr. was killed by federal agents."
  • "The moon landing was staged and never actually occurred."
Sunstein allowed that "some conspiracy theories, under our definition, have turned out to be true."
He continued: "The Watergate hotel room used by Democratic National Committee was, in fact, bugged by Republican officials, operating at the behest of the White House. In the 1950s, the CIA did, in fact, administer LSD and related drugs under Project MKULTRA, in an effort to investigate the possibility of 'mind control.'”
Sunstein's paper advocating against the belief that global warming is a deliberate fraud was written before November's climate scandal in which e-mails hacked from the Climatic Research Unit at East Anglia University in the U.K. indicate top climate researchers conspired to rig data and keep researchers with dissenting views from publishing in leading scientific journals.
Sunstein: Ban 'right wing' rumors
Sunstein's paper is not the first time he has advocated banning the free flow of information.
WND reported that in a recently released book, "On Rumors," Sunstein argued websites should be obliged to remove "false rumors" while libel laws should be altered to make it easier to sue for spreading such "rumors."
In the 2009 book, Sunstein cited as a primary example of "absurd" and "hateful" remarks, reports by "right-wing websites" alleging an association between President Obama and Weatherman terrorist William Ayers.
He also singled out radio talker Sean Hannity for "attacking" Obama regarding the president's "alleged associations."
Ayers became a name in the 2008 presidential campaign when it was disclosed he worked closely with Obama for years. Obama also was said to have launched his political career at a 1995 fundraiser in Ayers' apartment.
'New Deal Fairness Doctrine'
WND also previously reported Sunstein drew up a "First Amendment New Deal" – a new "Fairness Doctrine" that would include the establishment of a panel of "nonpartisan experts" to ensure "diversity of view" on the airwaves.
Sunstein compared the need for the government to regulate broadcasting to the moral obligation the U.S. had to impose new rules that outlawed segregation.
Sunstein's radical proposal, set forth in his 1993 book "The Partial Constitution," received no news media attention and scant scrutiny until the WND report.
In the book, Sunstein outwardly favors and promotes the "Fairness Doctrine," the abolished FCC policy that required holders of broadcast licenses to present controversial issues of public importance in a manner the government deemed "equitable and balanced."
Sunstein introduces what he terms his "First Amendment New Deal" to regulate broadcasting in the U.S.
His proposal, which focuses largely on television, includes a government requirement that "purely commercial stations provide financial subsidies to public television or to commercial stations that agree to provide less profitable but high-quality programming."
Sunstein wrote it is "worthwhile to consider more dramatic approaches as well."
He proposes "compulsory public-affairs programming, right of reply, content review by nonpartisan experts or guidelines to encourage attention to public issues and diversity of view."
The Obama czar argues his regulation proposals for broadcasting are actually presented within the spirit of the Constitution.
"It seems quite possible that a law that contained regulatory remedies would promote rather than undermine the 'freedom of speech,'" he writes.
Writes Sunstein: "The idea that government should be neutral among all forms of speech seems right in the abstract, but as frequently applied it is no more plausible than the idea that it should be neutral between the associational interests of blacks and those of whites under conditions of segregation."
Sunstein contends the landmark case that brought about the Fairness Doctrine, Red Lion Broadcasting Co. v. Federal Communications Commission, "stresses not the autonomy of broadcasters (made possible only by current ownership rights), but instead the need to promote democratic self-government by ensuring that people are presented with a broad range of views about public issues."
He continues: "In a market system, this goal may be compromised. It is hardly clear that 'the freedom of speech' is promoted by a regime in which people are permitted to speak only if other people are willing to pay enough to allow them to be heard."
In his book, Sunstein slams the U.S. courts' unwillingness to "require something like a Fairness Doctrine" to be a result of "the judiciary's lack of democratic pedigree, lack of fact-finding powers and limited remedial authority."
He clarifies he is not arguing the government should be free to regulate broadcasting however it chooses.
"Regulation designed to eliminate a particular viewpoint would of course be out of bounds. All viewpoint discrimination would be banned," Sunstein writes.
But, he says, "at the very least, regulative 'fairness doctrines' would raise no real doubts" constitutionally.

Carl Jung - Psychological Types.pdf

In the following pages I shall attempt a general description of the types, and my first concern must be with the two general types I have termed introverted and extraverted. But, in addition, I shall also try to give a certain characterization of those special types whose particularity is due to the fact that his most differentiated function plays the principal role in an individual's adaptation or orientation to life. The former I would term general attitude types, since they are distinguished by the direction of general interest or libido movement, while the latter I would call functiontypes.

The general-attitude types, as I have pointed out more than once, are differentiated by their particular attitude to the object. The introvert's attitude to the object is an abstracting one; at bottom, he is always facing the problem of how libido can be withdrawn from the object, as though an attempted ascendancy on. the part of the object had to be continually frustrated. The extrovert, on the contrary, maintains a positive relation to the object. To such an extent does he affirm its importance that his subjective attitude is continually being orientated by, and related to the object. An fond, the object can never have sufficient value; for him, therefore, its importance must always be paramount.

Deconstructing The Myth Of AIDS - Gary Null

2:09:49 3 years ago

Deconstructing the Myth of AIDS In 1984 we were told that HIV was the cause of AIDS. In his provocative documentary film, “Deconstructing the Myth of AIDS,” Gary Null, Ph.D., challenges virtually every statement ever made by the American medical industrial complex on the virus - including those of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute for Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). While presenting the findings of Nobel Prize-winning scientists and leading virologists, the film exposes the political maneuvering, conspiracies and cover-ups that have provided obstacles to the study of this human catastrophe from the start.

While presenting the findings of Nobel Prize-winning scientists and leading virologists, the film exposes the political maneuvering, conspiracies and cover-ups that have provided obstacles to the study of this human catastrophe from the start.

For example, there are experts who believe that AIDS is the result of multiple factors, including drug use, stress and nutritional deficiency, but that government agencies made a politically strategic decision to de-emphasize these hypotheses and thus discourage certain researchers and their funding. Meanwhile, AZT, an infamously failed treatment for cancer, and now the primary FDA-approved approach to treating AIDS, is highly toxic and can produce the very symptoms of the illness it is prescribed to treat.

“Deconstructing the Myth of AIDS” goes beyond medicine and science to question the very foundation of our reliance on government bureaucracies where it concerns matters of life and death.

Designed as both the opening exhibit of the Wilhelm Reich Museum and an educational tool for wider audiences, this video provides a concise overview of Reich's life and work. Comprised of stills, movie footage and computer animation, it is not intended as a substitute for Reich's literature, but as an easy-to-understand introduction to Reich's discovery and investigations of orgone energy. The video also provides a succinct and dramatic account of the FDA's campaign to destroy Reich's work.

The following comments were made by writer/producer Kevin Hinchey at Orgonon on July 15, 2002 at a presentation of the Museum’s new biographical video about Wilhelm Reich:

Twenty-eight minutes and thirty seconds is barely enough time to even begin to grasp the life and work of Wilhelm Reich. And that's all this video purports to do: provide a beginning. It is not a definitive documentary. Neither is it, nor was it ever intended to be, a substitute for reading Reich's literature or spending several hours at Orgonon which I believe are essential to educating one's self about Reich. Ideally the video will serve as a preliminary first step in a larger process: the video introduces ideas; the Museum amplifies them; and Reich's literature elucidates them.

Man's Right to Know was produced primarily to replace the existing slide show, which was essentially the first exhibit in the Museum tour. When Mary Higgins and I began to discuss the project, we asked ourselves, "Who is our audience?" This question proved to be a springboard for a much broader conversation about the purpose of the Museum, an analysis of its visitors, and how we might enrich the experience of those visitors.

For visitors with little or no knowledge of Reich, the exhibits in the Museum can be difficult to comprehend. After all, orgonomy is a young and largely unknown science, and there's little in a typical visitor's experience to prepare them for the range and epic quality of Reich's life and work. And in a short period of time, even the best informed tour guide simply cannot convey the magnitude of Reich's work nor sufficiently explain the connectivity from psychology to biology to physics—what Reich called the crucial "red thread."

Consequently, for many visitors, their image of Reich remains disjointed, and they're only able to focus and respond to isolated fragments of his legacy. Sometimes, if we're lucky, this response will translate into the purchase of books or other items at the bookstore. Sometimes it will translate into a life-long exploration into Reich's work. And sometimes visitors simply leave Orgonon to take in the other sights of Rangeley.

It seemed logical, then, that if the Museum could provide every visitor—from the uninitiated to the more knowledgeable—with a coherent and compelling image of Reich from the start of their tour in the screening room, then perhaps their response would translate into more book sales, increased membership and greater support of the Museum, more involvement with its programs, and more people personally committed to further exploring Reich's work.

As a result, our ambitions and expectations for the video began to expand, as we asked ourselves: "Could we present a concise overview of Reich's life and work that would be relatively easy to understand; that would quickly bring the viewer to a much higher level of understanding; that would touch the viewer emotionally; that would acclimate them in a practical way to the Museum exhibits; and that would introduce them to some of Reich's quotations and literature?"

And so, for visitors with little or no knowledge of Reich, this video is designed to be a compressed, concise introduction. It is intended to quickly and succinctly provide a rudimentary understanding of Reich that will better orient visitors to the Museum's exhibits and the offerings at the bookstore. Hopefully, visitors will recognize the parallels between the chronological organization of the material in the video and in the Museum, so that their tour becomes richer and more meaningful. After watching the video and taking the tour, we hope that visitors will be intrigued by the breadth of Reich's life...outraged by its tragedy...and inspired to learn more.

For those with more than a cursory knowledge of Reich, hopefully the video will confirm what the viewers already know, clarify certain areas of confusion, and perhaps fill in some gaps. For viewers well-versed in Reich's life and work, it's unlikely that this video will provide any new knowledge or insights. But at the very least I hope that its visual elements-many of them never before seen-will deepen the viewers' appreciation of Reich and his achievements.

Man's Right to Know was also deliberately designed to serve a broader mission of the Museum, to be used beyond the confines of Orgonon as a means of reaching and educating an even wider audience. In addition to being on sale in the bookstore, it will be available as an educational tool for lectures, seminars, classrooms, fund-raisers, open houses, and other events, providing audiences with a background and a context in which to further explore Reich's life and work.

From the inception of this project, the structure of the video was self-evident: follow "the red thread." The red thread itself provides a lean, muscular, logical storyline by which we can follow the chronology of Reich's life and the evolution of his work.

I decided to establish at the very beginning the historic concept of "Life Energy," then follow Reich's investigation of the energy principle from the libido, with its psychological and social implications, to his biological experiments that led to the discovery of orgone energy, to his medical work, and on into the area of orgone bio-physics. To me, this is the only way to grasp the immensity of Reich's achievements; whether it's in a twenty-eight minute video, a two-hour documentary, or a Hollywood movie, this is the structure to follow.

With the red thread as the structural backbone, I wanted to emphasize from the start, both narratively and visually, that Wilhelm Reich was a scientist. Toward that end, I relied heavily on movie footage and photographs of Reich and his co-workers in the laboratory, visuals of scientific equipment, select quotations about his energy work, and titles that conveyed the documentation of that work.

It is unfortunate today that Reich's detractors fail or refuse to recognize the disciplined, rigorous, empirical nature of his experiments. It is equally regrettable that many of Reich's admirers mysticize his work or rush to lump it together with all kinds of pseudo-sciences. Consequently, I felt that suffusing this video with scientific imagery was thematically appropriate.

Given the time constraints in terms of the length of the video and my desire to maintain a terse muscular storyline, I decided to omit any references to Reich's personal life except for the segment devoted to his early years. I felt that any discussion about his wives, children and friends in the body of the program would disrupt the flow, and was not essential to understanding his work. Furthermore, a curious viewer could always get that information from a museum tour guide.

I also saw Man's Right to Know as an opportunity to clarify and correct some common misconceptions. Even among those favorably disposed to Reich, we constantly find inaccuracies, untruths, misstatements, and carelessness with facts. Obviously it would take a presentation several hours to begin to address all the rumors, slanders, and vilifications during Reich's life and afterwards. But I felt it was essential to set the record straight on several key issues: the orgone energy accumulator, for example; so pivotal to Reich's work, so central to the ultimate tragedy of his life, and the subject of much slander and honest misunderstanding. Without a basic scientific understanding of the accumulator, a person simply cannot grasp all that follows in Reich's life.

Since the essence of orgone energy is movement and pulsation, I didn't feel that static drawings would convey the scientific principles which govern the orgone accumulator. And so I opted for some rather basic computer animation to illustrate these concepts. And wherever appropriate, I tried to reinforce our discussion of the accumulator's experimental and medical usage with titles from Reich's bulletins and journals.

The notion that the orgone accumulator is a sexual device used to enhance one's orgastic potency is a common misconception that one hears even today, and often from people who genuinely admire Reich's work. Because this notion proved so destructive to Reich, I felt it was crucial to pinpoint its origin to a specific quotation in a specific article by Mildred Edie Brady.

Similarly, the cloudbuster is an object of much fascination and misunderstanding, among those for Reich and against him. For example, many people think that the cloudbuster emanates orgone energy into the atmosphere during weather operations. So, again, I felt a brief and basic explanation was necessary for a fuller appreciation of Reich's work.

Let me paraphrase what I said at the beginning: none of the content here, none of these brief illustrations of the accumulator and the cloudbuster can substitute for the fuller explanations found in Reich's literature. Again, I hope that viewers—whether they're Museum visitors; attendees at a lecture, in a classroom, or at some other event—will be sufficiently intrigued so that they'll want to read Reich's literature and learn more about his life and work.

While there's certainly no way to evade the tragedy and sadness of Reich's death in prison, Mary and I didn't want to end the video on that note. We felt that after we mention Reich’s death might be a good opportunity to do what we hadn't done in the body of the program: focus on the human side of Reich. This is how the final montage evolved, with photographs of Reich with his wives, children, and friends, away from work and the laboratory.

Early on, Mary and I knew that we wanted to hear Reich's voice somewhere during the program. We felt that for those who have never heard him speak, his voice would confer an added dimension to our portrayal of Reich. But where would his voice be appropriate? What would be the specific sound-bite? And how would it integrate into the overall content?

After spending hours listening to tapes and poring over transcripts, we finally came across a few sentences which we felt provided a moving summation of Reich’s commitment to his work. And, as such, was the most fitting way to conclude Man’s Right to Know.

The emotional plague is not an expression of conscious ill will or designed brutality. The structural character of the plague made its effects the more dangerous. Emotional plague is a character trait like cleanliness or deligence or truthfulness. It is biopathic behavior lived out on the social scene in interhuman relationships.

The energy source of the emotional plague reactions is basically sexual
frustration combined with a keen aggressiveness.

Unless we proceed cautiously, there might well arise a few generations of mystics who conceive of the orgone metaphysically, divorced from non-living nature and who do not comprehend it from the standpoint of natural science. And it seems to me that we have more than enough mysticism as it is."

Some Dangerous Thoughts Concerning "Freedom" and "Responsibility"

" The cry for freedom is a sign of suppression. It will never cease as long as man feels himself to be trapped. No matter how different the cries for freedom may be, at bottom they always express one and the same thing: the intolerableness of the organism's rigidity and the mechanical institutions of life, which are sharply at variance with the natural sensations of life. If there should ever be a society in which all the cries for freedom fade away, then man will have finally overcome his biological and social deformity and have achieved genuine freedom. Not until man acknowledges that he is fundamentally an animal, will he be able to create a genuine culture.

Man's 'upward strivings' are nothing but the biologic development of vital powers. Such strivings are conceivable only within the framework of the laws of biologic development and not in opposition to them. The will to freedom and the capacity for freedom are nothing the will and the capacity to recognize and promote the unfolding of man's biologic energy (with the aid of the machine). It is out of the question to talk about freedom if man's biologic development is choked and feared.

Under the influence of politicians, masses of people tend to ascribe the responsibility for wars to those who wield power at any given time. In World War I it was the munitions industrialists; in World War II it was the psychopathic generals who were said to be guilty. This is passing the buck. The responsibility for war falls solely upon the shoulders of these same masses of people, for they have all the necessary means to avert war in their own hands. In part by their apathy, in part by their passivity, and in part actively, these masses of people make possible the catastrophes under which they themselves suffer more than anybody else. To stress this guilt on the part of masses of people, to hold them solely responsible, means to take them seriously. On the other hand, to commiserate masses of people as victims, means to treat them as small, helpless children. The former is the attitude held by genuine freedom-fighters; the latter the attitude held by the power-thirsty politicians."

--Wilhelm Reich, The Mass Psychology of Fascism.

Wilhelm Reich was a psychologist and author who came to the United States in order to escape Fascism and the ravages of the Second World War. The American authorities showed their subsequent appreciation for his work by burning many of Dr Reich's books in 1950s. (Not unlike how the Nazis did twenty years before.)

He died on November 3rd 1957 in Lewisburgh Penitentiary. In his will, Reich stated that his unpublished papers were to be locked away until the year 2007, 50 years after his death, when as he put it,

"man would be ready for his concepts."

Wilhelm Reich - The Mass Psychology of Fascism

At the time when this book was originally written, fascism was generally regarded a "political party" which, like any other "social group," was an organized representation of a "political idea." According to this concept, the fascist party "introduced" fascism by force or by "political manoeuvre."
Contrary to this concept, my medical experience with individuals from all kinds of social strata, races, nationalities and religions showed me that "fascism" is only the politically organized expression of the average human character structure, a character structure which has nothing to do with this or that race, nation or party but which is general and international. In this characterological sense, "fascism" is the basic emotional attitude of man in authoritarian society, with its machine civilization and its mechanistic-mystical view of life. It is the mechanistic-mystical character of man in our times which creates fascist parties, and not vice versa.
Even today, as a result of fallacious political thinking, fascism is still being considered a specific national characteristic of the Germans or the Japanese. The stubborn persistence of this fallacy is due to the fear of recognizing the truth: fascism is an international phenomenon which permeates all organizations of human society in all nations. This conclusion is confirmed by the international events of the past 15 years.

The Life and Death of Wilhelm Reich

This perspective of Reich was written in 1962, only five years after his death. It summarizes Reich's life, his work, and his struggles with the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) culminating in his imprisonment and death.

In the beginning, pre-civilization it seems and definitely before humans had developed higher thought processes, there was Sigmund Freud. The guy has produced copious volumes of mostly BS that many college students in pastdecades have been forced to endure. As to Freud's credibility as a guide for others to live by, I have yet to see any photos of the guy where he wasn't looking incredibly depressed and sad. I can't imagine a worse person to listen to for the meaning of life, love, or to find the joy of living. Next there was Wilhelm Reich, a student of Freud.

Reich viewed Freud as being neurotic and the two men hardly got along. Reich discovered the connection between blocked sexuality and feelings, and the "muscular armoring" of modern "civilized" humans. Reich noted the tight jaws, shoulders, pelvises, the restricted breathing patterns, and the tension around the eyes of the patients he saw. Reich devised some techniques to help relieve the tensions, bring emotion, sexual feelings, and life back into the people who came to him. Reich also coined the phrase "genital character" to denote someone who was completely unblocked and sexually open. It turned out to be largely a "pie in the sky" ideal to be striven for, as it was an extremely elusive goal for his patients to reach.

I will be adding more interesting information about this man and topic in the future

If your doctor doesn’t believe in FMS, you are going to the wrong doctor.

If your doctor doesn’t believe in FMS, you are going to the wrong doctor May 7, '07 7:49 AM

"Fibromyalgia (FM) is the commonest cause of widespread pain (Bennett,1995), yet it may remain undiagnosed for a long time. Uncertainty and frequent misdiagnosis can cause considerable havoc in the lives of patients. Every expert in the field seems to have his or her own estimate of how many people actually have FMS. This confusion will remain until doctors are trained in comprehensive differential diagnosis. Most FM patients are female, but again, experts disagree on the percentage.
Fibromyalgia is pronounced fie-bro-my-al-jia sind-rome. The word "fibromyalgia" is a combination of the Latin roots fibro (connective tissue fibers), my (muscle), al (pain), and gia (condition of). Fibromyalgia is not a new "fad disease". For many years the medical profession called it by many different names, including "chronic rheumatism" and "fibrositis".

Most physicians still lack the skills to diagnose and treat it effectively. FMS, like many other conditions, is not curable right now, but it is very treatable, and there are many ways in which you can considerably improve your health and quality of life. You may come to your doctor with symptoms that seem unrelated. They can run the gamut from mental confusion to burning feet, but are usually accompanied by an over-all flu-like feeling that impacts every aspect of your life. Each chapter in "Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain: A Survival Manual, edition 2" has its own medical journal reference section at the end of the chapter. There is also instruction in how to obtain these reference materials.
The American College of Rheumatology, American Medical Association, The World Health Organization, and the National Institutes of Health have all accepted FMS as a legitimate clinical entity. If your doctor "doesn’t believe in FMS", you are going to the wrong doctor. At the Travell Focus on Pain Seminar 2000, I. Jon Russell MD, editor of the Journal of Musculoskeletal Pain, mentioned the use of the Functional MRI, which shows the brain in action. In a healthy individual, when you pressed on a tender point, there is minimal response, but in a patient with FMS, "...the result was wild. The whole brain went crazy." Something is happening in the FMS central nervous system that doesn’t happen to healthy people.

Fibromyalgia can be a source of substantial disability (Kaplan, Schmidt and Cronan, 2000). This is especially true if you have had it for a long period of time without adequate medical support. Nearly everyone with FMS exhibits reduced coordination skills and decreased endurance abilities, although some of this may be due to co-existing chronic myofascial pain (CMP).
Fibromyalgia is a complex syndrome characterized by pain amplification, musculoskeletal discomfort, and systemic symptoms. In FMS, there is a generalized disturbance of the way pain is processed by the body (Morris, Cruwys and Kidd, 1998). I think the definition of FMS as widespread allodynia and hyperalgesia (Russell, 1998) describes it well. Allodynia means nonpainful sensations are translated into pain sensations. Hyperalgesia means that your pain sensations are amplified. These changes in the way your central nervous system processes pain seem to be worse if there is a physically traumatic initiating event.
You may be sensitive to odors, sounds, lights, and vibrations that others don’t even notice. The noise emitted by fluorescent lights might drive you to distraction. Your body may at times interpret touch, light, or even sound as pain. Sleep, or the lack thereof, plays a crucial role in FMS. Sleep disturbances, a swollen feeling, and exercise intolerance are significantly related to FMS (Jacobsen, Petersen and Danneskiold-Samsoe, 1993).
Besides specific tender points, the essential symptom of FMS is pain, except in the case of older patients. Seniors are more troubled by fatigue, soft-tissue swelling and depression (Yunus, Holt, Masi et al. 1988) In younger people, discomfort after minimal exercise, low-grade fever or below-normal temperature, and skin sensitivity are also common (Reiffenberger and L. H. Amundson, 1996).

Central Sensitization "It is now firmly established that a central nervous system (CNS) dysfunction is primarily responsible for the increased pain sensitivity of fibromyalgia" (Simons, Travell and Simons, 1999 p 17). There is a generalized CNS- mediated deep tissue sensitivity in FMS includes the muscles, which is why so many people mistakenly believe that it is a muscular condition. Anything that results in tissue injury, whether from more obvious physical trauma such as an auto accident or from subtler biochemical damage, can cause hypersensitivity at the site of the injury. If there is repeated or continued trauma, other areas may develop the hypersensitivity (Yaksh, Hua,. Kalcheva et al. 1999). This can lead to a state of "central sensitization", as your nervous system reacts to chronic, long-term pain in several ways.
The tendency to develop FMS may be inherited. Many mothers with FMS have children with FMS. Because psychological and familial factors were not different in children with or without FMS, this may be due to genetics (Yunus, Kahn, Rawlings, et al.1999). In 1989, Pellegrino, Waylonis and Sommer found that FMS might be inherited on an autosomal dominant basis, with a variable latent phase. This means that approximately half of the children of an FMS parent will eventually develop FMS. The sooner FMS is recognized and treated the more easily symptoms can be controlled. In Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain: A Survival Manual, edition 2, there is a chapter dealing with age-related issues, infant to senior citizen, later in the book.

What Fibromyalgia Isn’t.
Fibromyalgia is not musculoskeletal disorder (Simms, 1998). It should have been called "Central Nervous System-myalgia" (New Research). That is where the dysfunction is. It has nothing to do with the fibers of your muscles. In FMS, muscle fibers are not causing the problem, although there may be cellular changes caused by biochemical FMS dysfunction. Fibromyalgia is a biochemical disorder, and these biochemicals affect the whole body. You can’t have FMS only in your back or your hands. You either have it all over or you don’t have it at all. If you have localized complaints, they are probably not caused by FMS, although FMS may be amplifying the local symptoms.
Fibromyalgia is not progressive (Wolfe, Anderson, Harkness et al.1997). If your illness is getting significantly worse with time, there is some perpetuating or aggravating factor or a co-existing condition that has not been addressed. If you identify it and deal with it thoroughly and promptly, your symptoms should ease considerably. Fibromyalgia is not a diagnosis of exclusivity. You may have co-existing conditions, such as MS, arthritis, and/or myofascial pain, and still have FMS amplification.

Fibromyalgia is not a catchall, wastebasket diagnosis. It is a specific, chronic non-degenerative, non-inflammatory syndrome. It is not a disease. Diseases have known causes and well-understood mechanisms for producing symptoms. A syndrome is a specific set of signs and symptoms that occur together are also classified as syndromes. Rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and many other serious conditions are also syndromes.

Fibromyalgia is not the same as chronic myofascial pain (Gerwin, 1999). It is fundamentally different in an important way (Simons, Travell and Simons, 1999 p 18.) There is no such thing as a fibromyalgia trigger point. Mention of "FMS trigger points" by your doctor or physical therapist should wave a warning flag that there is a serious lack of understanding here. Trigger points (TrPs) are part of myofascial pain, not FMS, and your care provider must understand this.
Fibromyalgia is not the same as CFIDS, although they may be part of the same family of central nervous system dysfunctions. In one study, levels of substance P were determined in the cerebrospinal fluid in 15 patients with CFIDS. All values were within normal. Most patients with FM have increased substance P in the cerebrospinal fluid. The results of this study support the notion that FMS and CFIDS are different disorders in spite of overlapping symptoms (Evengard, Nilsson, Lindh, et al. 1998). Another study points out that "In FMS, there is a condition of physiological hyperarousal. In CFIDS, a blunted response, the exact opposite, occurs" (Crofford, 1998).
Fibromyalgia is not just widespread pain or achy muscles. In the general population, adults who meet the ACR definition of FMS appear to have distinct features compared to those with chronic widespread pain that do not meet those criteria (White, Speechley, Harth et al. 1999a). There are many conditions, which cause widespread pain besides FMS. CMP can cause widespread pain due to trigger point cascades, for example. Side effects of some medications can do the same. Widespread pain is also common in Lyme disease, HIV, hypothyroid and other endocrine abnormalities, and some genetic diseases (Soppi M. and E. Beneforti, 1999).

Fibromyalgia is not homogenous. The cause of muscle pain and allodynia may not be the same in all persons fulfilling the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) criteria for FMS (Henriksson, 1999). Fibromyalgia seems to include patients with different pain processing mechanisms (Sorensen, Bengtsson, Ahlner, et al.1997). There are many subsets of FMS. One study has separated some subsets into meaningful categories (Eisinger, Starlanyl, Blatman, 2000), and this separation may help decide which treatment regimens are more likely to help specific patients.

Fibromyalgia is not autoimmune (Wittrup, Wiik, Danneskiold-Samsoe, 1999). The presence of antinuclear antibodies and other connective tissue disease features is similar in patients with fibromyalgia and healthy controls (Yunus, Hussey and Aldag, 1993). Some FMS patients may develop co-existing autoimmune conditions, and patients with immune conditions may develop FMS, but this does not show a causal relationship. There is a subset of people with FMS who test positive for antinuclear antibodies (Smart, Waylonis and Hackinshaw, 1997). We don’t yet know what this means. A response to antipolymer antibodies is associated with a subset of patients with FMS (Wilson, Gluck, Tesser et al. 1999).

Fibromyalgia is not a mental illness, and must not be categorized as such. Some people with FMS also have mental illness. Some people with sniffles have mental illness too, but that doesn’t mean that sniffles are caused by mental illness. Studies have shown that the incidence of mental problems is no higher with FMS patients than with any other type of chronic pain syndrome (Goldenberg, 1989; Merskey, 1989 ). "There is now clinical evidence that FMS represents a distinct rheumatic disorder and should not be regarded as a somatic illness secondary to psychiatric disorder" (Dunne and Dunne 1995). "Psychiatric Diagnostic Interview data failed to discriminate in any major way between primary fibromyalgia syndrome (a disorder with no known organic etiology) and rheumatoid arthritis (a disorder with a known organic etiology). Therefore, these data do not support a psychopathology model as a primary explanation of the symptoms of primary fibromyalgia syndrome" (Ahles, Khan, Yunus et al. 1991).

Fibromyalgia is not infectious. Infection from many causes can start the neurochemical cascade of FMS. This does not mean that FMS itself is infectious. Both FMS and CMP can be brought on by triggers, such as stress, infections, pollution, and diet. There is a great deal of financial and other stress in dealing with a chronic illness, so it is not surprising that some partners of patients with FMS develop the same illness.
Tender points hurt where pressed, but they do not refer pain. In other words, pressing a tender point does not cause pain in some other part of the body. The examiner must use enough pressure to whiten the thumbnail, which is about 4 kg pressure. The official definition further requires that tender points must be present in all four quadrants of the body, that is, the upper right and left and lower right and left parts of your body. Tender points occur in pairs, so the pain is usually distributed equally on both sides of the body.

Fibromyalgia Tender Points
On the back of your body, tender points are present in the following places:Along the spine in the neck, where the head and neck meet;On the upper line of the shoulder, a little less than halfway from the shoulder to the neck; about three finger widths, on a diagonal, inward from the last points;On the back fairly close to the dimples above the buttocks, a little less than halfway in toward the spine;
Below the buttocks, very close to the outside edge of the thigh, about three finger widths. On the front of your body, tender points are present in the following places:
On the neck, just above inner edge of the collarbone; On the neck, a little further out from the last points, about four finger widths down;On the inner (palm) side of the lower arm, about three finger widths below the elbow crease; On the inner side of the knee, in the fat pad.
The tender point count may decrease with proper medical treatment and self-care, but that doesn’t mean that the FMS has been cured. It simply means that you have learned to deal with the perpetuating factors and co-existing conditions and have them under control.
In FMS, we believe that there is often an initiating event that activates biochemical changes, causing a cascade of symptoms. For example, unremitting grief of six months or longer can trigger FMS. In many ways, FMS is sort of like a Survivor’s Syndrome. Cumulative trauma, protracted labor in pregnancy, open-heart surgery, and even inguinal hernia repair have all been initiating events for FMS. The start of each case of FMS probably has multiple causes (Bennett and Jacobsen,1994. Not all cases of FMS cases have a known triggering event that initiates the first obvious flare. During a flare, current symptoms become more intense, and new symptoms frequently develop.
Fibromyalgia seems to be the result of many neurotransmitter cascades (Fibromyalgia Advocate, Chapter 2). A neurotransmitter cascade is like a waterfall that starts at the top and bounces off rocks and ridges on the way down, wearing down rock, moving gravel, and changing the river as it goes. The neurotransmitter cascade can cause changes throughout your body, and many of these changes start cascades of their own. Once they get going, a combination of peripheral and central factors join in to make the changes chronic, and the result is what we call fibromyalgia. Every patient may have different "informational substances" disrupted in different ways".

We the people, dont take any more shit from your ignorant doctors!!!
